The rise of high-tech burglary techniques poses a significant challenge to conventional security measures, including cameras and alarm systems. Thieves have begun to employ strategies that interfere with Wi-Fi signals, thereby undermining the effectiveness of these protective devices. Police recommend that residents adopt various precautions to mitigate the risk of theft.
The majority of modern households utilize Wi-Fi signals to support their security system burglar alarms and surveillance tools, which encompass doorbell cameras.
Police advise residents to replace their Wi-Fi surveillance systems with wired connections. They recommend reaching out to network providers or electricians to facilitate the connection of the burglar alarm system to the router using cables. This strategy negates the need for Wi-Fi, thus preventing the interference of Wi-Fi jammers.
The FCC emphasizes to consumers that should they encounter any interruptions in their home Wi-Fi, they should immediately get in touch with their internet provider. This will help ascertain whether the problem is due to a malfunctioning device or if it is being compromised by a signal jammers.
