Berra to stay after Wolves bid rejected

Yesterday Hearts supporters were given some good news when it emerged, after months of speculation, that club captain Christophe Berra is to stay at Tynecastle. Wolves reportedly had upped their bid from 1.5m to 1.75m, still short of Hearts 2M JB Shuck Jersey valuation of the player, and their manager Mick McCarthy, in an interview with the Scotsman, said it was time to look at other targets. Im still hopeful of getting another player , he said. We had a bid in for Berra but that deal is dead. It wont be done at all. Hearts are saying he wont be going anywhere so Ive moved on. There are no other bids in.For the moment, the deal is dead as far as Im concerned and were looking elsewhere. Who we get, I dont know. It might be that someone comes from completely out of the blue from somewhere which has never been mentioned. In an interview published on the official Hearts website Berra, the recently capped Scotland internationalist, told Hearts World that he was not only happy to be staying at Tynecastle but that the was also excited about the prospect of working under new manager Csaba Laszlo. The new manager Tyler Glasnow Jersey has laid down his guidelines. I have been impre sed with him and am looking forward to the season starting. He continued: He hasnt been long here but he knows how he wants Josh Harrison Jersey us to play, how he wants us to work and hes also high on discipline and work ethic and Ive got a good feeling about the appointment. There has been a lot of paper talk but I am happy here just now. I have been impre sed with him and Im sure he can help improve me as an individual and take the team forward. I want to win things and be succe sful but on a personal level I need to look after myself and want to keep improving. The club had been working hard to bring in a new manager and I think they have done a good job and we are all looking forward to improving on last season to finish as high up the league as we can.I want to become the best player I po sibly can. I am happy to be a Hearts player and cant wait for the new season. The early signs are looking good. This news will be welcomed by most Hearts supporters as Berra is at the stage of his career where he should really be establishing himself as a one Willie Stargell Jersey of the clubs top performers. In my opinion he was given the captaincy at too young an age and Elias Diaz Jersey at a very difficult time for the club.Hearts have done well to turn these bids from Wolves down as if Berra manages to get a few more international caps, maybe even a few starts, then his value would increase and, if Hearts still wanted to cash in on him, they could po sibly receive more than 2m.Although Dutch side Feyenoord are apparently still sniffing about Berra so if the size of their bid matches what Hearts are holding out for, we still may see the club captain leave Tynecastle before the start of the season.
