Young prospects of the future, like Danny Welbeck and Federico Macheda, will also try chipping in with the old appearance. Smalling signed for the reds in January but was loaned back to Fulham till the end of the season. Brought for a fee of around 10million, Smalling was playing non league football only 18months ago playing for Maidstone United and looks a hot prospect for the future.
