Man Utd Season Preview 2010-11 Man Utd S

Man Utd Season Preview 2010-11Manchester United have not Kamalei Correa Jersey only been consistent since the turn of the century but have scooped a remarkable: Six League Titles and the UEFA Champions League in addition to several Domestic Cups. Last season was another big one for United with the retention of the Football League Cup along with taking the title race down to the wire and eventually only being piped to it by one point. It was also a big season for Wayne Rooney who impre sed with 34 goals in 44 appearances and the 2010/11 season can only improve for United and the 24 year old.Stats:Manager: Alex Ferguson Last Season: 2nd TitleOdds:12/5 First five fixtures: Newcastle (H), Fulham (A), West Ham (H), Everton (A), Liverpool (H)Ins: Javier Hernandez (7million from C.D. Guadalajara),Chris Smalling (10million from Fulham),Marnick Vermijl (undisclosed from Standard Liege).Outs:Ben Foster (6million to Birmingham),Tom Heaton (free to Cardiff),Zoran Tosic (8m to CSKA Moscow),Matthew James (loan to Preston),Daniel Drinkwater (loan to Ryan Tannehill Jersey Cardiff City),Mama Biram Diouf (loan to Blackburn),Joshua King (loan to Preston),Craig Cathcart (500K to Blackpool). This season also looks to big like last season if not bigger with the new additions of Javier Hernandez and Chris Smalling to strengthen the squad. This season United will be looking to not be so reliant on their tallis man Wayne Rooney. The Reds will look to lift the weight of the 24 year olds shoulders with Hernandezs arrival and Michael Owen once again being fit. Signed in May of this year, Javier Hernandez was reasonably unknown in Europe before United pounced and secured his signature before the 2010 World Cup. The Mexican international impre sed in South Africa with two goals in three appearances and was named the fast player of the tournament with a top speed of 33.15km/h. Young prospects of the future, like Danny Welbeck and Federico Macheda, will also try chipping in with the old appearance. Taywan Taylor Jersey Although being the best defence in the league, United have also blustered their defence with Chris Smalling arriving from Fulham. Smalling signed for the reds in January but was loaned back to Fulham till the end of the season. Brought for a fee of around 10million, Smalling was playing non league football only 18months ago playing for Maidstone United and looks a hot prospect for the future. Even though the Red Devils only conceded twenty eight goals, at points in the season Sir Alex Fergusons side had nine defenders out injured and in the games against West Ham and Wolfsburg they were forced to play two midfielders in defensive positions along with Patrice Evra and a mixture of reserves but overall I think the squad is strong and with the young players pushing thought the ranks such as Tom Cleverly, the future looks bright.Key Player: Wayne Rooney. The ever present Wayne Rooney although having a terrible Bruce Matthews Jersey World Cup for England will be a key player for Sir Alex in the race to get their title back and with 34 goals last season his goal tally will look to rise and with all the potential formations the tallis man can play in the outlook looks bright. The England international can play in a 4-5-1/4-3-3 formation as a lone striker or play with a second striker in a 4-4-2 formation. One To Watch: Javier Hernandez.A lot has been made of Javier Hernandez in the build up to Uniteds season but its unclear at the moment where he will feature in the four United games which hes featured in, he has came off the bench (bar Chivas which he played one half for each due to opening of old clubs new stadium. He Dennis Kelly Jersey also scored against United) and in the Eire XI, MLS All Stars and The Community Shield has scored for United. Chicharito as he is known is likely for the first half of the season to be a impact player from the bench. My Predictions:Premier League: WinnersFootball League Cup: WinnersFA Cup: Semi-FinalsUEFA Champions League: Runners Up
